Wow! What a ride! This book is one of those rare gems that kept me hooked – up all night, reading almost faster than I could turn the pages, and constantly thinking about it when I finally did put it down to go to work or eat, or some other such nuisance task.
I’m normally not the type to guess ‘whodunnit’ – I like to read for the journey’s sake – but this one had me second-guessing everyone. There were times when I knew, beyond any doubt, what was going on, what really happened to Megan, who was lying or telling the truth, who was seeing whom; only to turn the page and discover I was wrong.
Sure, there were a couple of things I figured out early on, but not enough to solve the mysteries that mattered. It’s a fantastic author who knows just how much to drip-feed, to balance the ‘figuring out of things’ with the ‘need to know more’.
If you loved Liane Moriarty’s ‘Big Little Lies’ or Gillian Flynn’s ‘Gone Girl’ you need to give this book a read.
